At the campsite, you will be offered guides and maps of the region to explore the local flora and fauna, and make beautiful hikes.

Tourist documentation on the activities of the Morvan Park and the Nièvre department is at your disposal at the reception. You can complete it at the tourist office Ouroux in Morvan in the village center (600 meters)

The town has a pond of 6 ha rich in carp, pike, and white fish. The banks are furnished for your comfort. To fish there is a communal fishing card.

ATV hikes (80 km of marked trails around the town of Ouroux in Morvan).

The Great Lakes of Morvan

6 km: Lake Pannecière (520 ha), is the largest lake of the Regional Natural Park of Morvan. With a length of 13 km, it extends over four municipalities including Ouroux in Morvan.

10 km: Lake Settons (350 ha), located 600 m above sea level, is surrounded by fir wood and larch. Lake Settons is retained by a stone dike. Today, a pedestrian path allows to go around the lake (15km) closer to the water. The tour of Settons Lake being relatively flat, you can also do it quite easily by bike during your family outings. The lake has a nautical base where it is possible to practice a large number of activities: catamaran, pedal boat, supervised swimming, fishing and some motorized water activities.

The Museum of the Resistance: It allows to discover the role and the importance of the Resistance in this region of Burgundy during the Second World War. A privileged zone for the establishment of the maquis, the Morvan was a safe haven for all those who sought to escape the repression and wanted to continue the struggle. It evokes the Morvan Resistance. Numerous documents, archives, photographs and war materials illustrate the visit.

Château Chinon

Château Chinon (25 km) capitale du Morvan

Costume Museum: Since 1992, the mansion house has housed an important collection of rich costumes of some 5,000 items. On a surface of 1500 m2, one can discover the various evolutions of the French fashion between the end of the 18th century and the middle of the 20th century.

Musée du septennat by François Mitterrand: The Septennat Museum, housed in the former convent of St. Clare built in the 18th century, opened in 1986. It houses official and personal gifts received by the President of the Republic, François Mitterrand , in the course of his duties and given by him to the Department of Nièvre.

Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely’s mobile fountain, which is one of the three fountains of this type in the world.

Beautiful places of Burgundy

Near Avallon (city at the gates of the Morvan), beautiful medieval city partly surrounded by medieval walls.

Close to many castles such as Château de Bazoches and Chatillon en Bazois with beautiful French gardens.

Near Saint Père sous Vezelay, where you can see the church Notre Dame de Vezelay. It is a true jewel of the Gothic art of Burgundy. The excavations of the Salted Fountains are an archeological site of first importance. These excavations led to the discovery of a vast spa complex of the Gallo-Roman era.

To visit also, the Grottes d’Arcy sur Cure.
The Caves of Arcy are a set of 11 cavities dug by the Cure, between Auxerre and Avallon in the Yonne. The Grande Grotte, the only one open to visitors, is the oldest decorated cave in the world after the Chauvet cave.
